|
Preparation of sub base : The finished surface of your paving will ultimately reflect the sub surface that it has been laid on. On sandy soils, which prevail in the Perth region, it is recommended that a minimum of 50mm of clean compacted sand, such as brickies sand, be introduced as a sub base. This should be moistened and compacted with a vibrating plate compactor to achieve a consistent thickness and compaction in the sub base. When done correctly your finished paving will not sink or settle. In heavy traffic areas such as driveways, or where water may come into play, as around a swimming pool, an additional 50mm of compacted crushed road base should be considered below the bricky’s sand to ensure longevity of your paving product. At all times consider installing blank conduits – this will provide later access for irrigation, lighting etc.

Apply a recommended Surface sealant : When purchasing your paving enquire about a suitable surface sealant. The selection of the correct sealant is vital to extend hassle free enjoyment of the your pavers. |
